Eugenie Sampeur Etienne, born in La Romana, Dominican Republic on March 30, 1927, and residing on Riverside Drive in New York City for the past 54 years, passed away early on the morning of April 25, 2012 at 5:40 am.

Eugenie, mother of Jocelyne and Carole Petoia, Marc Edouard Etienne and Donald Etienne; mother-in-law to Laurie Etienne; sister to Helene Sampeur; godmother to Michelle Mitton, Marcel Simeon, Jr., and Varnia Lovinsky; and godmother and aunt to Michele Alphonse, leaves behind many other loving family and friends.

The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Friday, April 27th, from 5-9pm at Redden's Funeral Home, 325 W. 14th St, NYC, NY 10014 (between 8th and 9th Ave).

There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, April 28th, at 10:00am at The Church of the Ascension, 221 W. 107th St., NYC, NY 10025 (between Broadway and Amsterdam).

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity near and dear to Genie's heart.
