Jennifer Anne Kaffenberger
Jennifer Anne Kaffenberger (Saltzstein) 40, passed away in New York City on Monday, May 16, 2016 from complications related to a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. Jennifer was born February 12, 1976 in Westchester, PA. She grew up in South Florida and early in life developed a love for acting and drama. She attended Duke University where she majored in drama. After graduation Jennifer moved to NYC where she performed in off Broadway performances. In New York City she worked for McGraw Hill Publications and for the NYC Public School System to develop student curriculum and assessment initiatives. It was at McGraw Hill that she met the love of her life, Ross Kaffenberger. They were married on May 19, 2012 in Washington, D.C.
She volunteered at God’s Love we Deliver. She cared about arts and culture, health and human rights. Her hobbies include reading, theatre and the arts.
She will be remembered as a loving, generous and self-less friend.
Jennifer is survived by her parents Robert F. Saltzstein and Elaine C. Saltzstein, brother Matthew (sister-in-law Juhi and niece Nikita) and sister Betsy (brother-in-law John and niece Kate). She is also survived by her husband, Ross Kaffenberger, his parents, Will and Carol Kaffenberger; and sister-in-law, Jennifer Collins (brother-in-law Tristram and nephews Kieran and Crosby); and sister-in-law Sarah Daily (brother-in-law Sean and nieces Emma and Hannah).
A funeral service will take place on Monday May 23rd at 11:00 a.m. to honor her memory, love and laughter at National Presbyterian Church, 4101 Nebraska Ave. N.W., Washington D.C. (www.NationalPres.org).
