Obituary for David T. Heim

David Thorlief Heim, 73, of New York City, NY passed away on 2 July 2016.
Leaving behind his wife Judith Heim, children Crystal Cowan-Zeko & David Heim Jr., sister Carolyn Bulsair, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, he will be missed greatly. David was a Master Electrician with Lucent Technologies. After retiring his interests in boating took on a new life and he went on to become a certified Captain, teaching for the nautical school and even boat building. He built half hull models, small water crafts, eventually piloting larger vessels up and down the east coast, including Mariner III and the Bronx Tug Boat. David specialized in Marine electrical and carpentry and loved to share his passion for sailing and marine life with everyone he came across.
David made many friends from around the world and created everlasting relationships. His dedication and work ethic were only surpassed by his integrity and compassion.
Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, Great Uncle, Father-in-Law and Friend, David Heim will be missed by all of us. But possibly missed most by his loyal companion, Salty.
Visitation will be from 12p-5pm on Saturday July 9th at Redden’s Fueral Home, 325 West 14th Street, NYC. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to David’s GoFundMe campaign https://gofundme.com/28fnxp7g or search Fund Administrator “Beth Adames” at GoFundMe.
