Obituary for Roslyn Leekin (Ramkaransingh)

Roslyn Leekin (Ramkaransingh)
Roslyn Leekin of New York City, age 85, passed away on September 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Manhattan. Roslyn is survived by her beloved husband, Peter, and their 5 children, Annette Rivera, Kimoy Stack (Ken), Kimlin Prendergass (Fred), Anthony Leekin (Shirley), Joseph Leekin (Carey), 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Roslyn is also survived by her many beloved siblings, nieces and nephews in the United States and Trinidad.

Roslyn was born in Trinidad and came to New York in 1965. She became a nurse’s aide and eventually owned several businesses over the years with her husband, Peter. Roslyn’s life always revolved around her family and hard work. She loved her family deeply, enjoyed vacationing at Schroon Lake every summer, and always brightened the many family gatherings with her smile. Her heart-felt laughter and warm presence will greatly be missed as will her sensible advice and lively conversations.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to Visiting Nurse Services of New York Hospice and Palliative Care, and Saint Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY.

Flowers are welcome, or in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to ALZ.org (Alzheimer’s Association). Final arrangements have been entrusted to Redden’s Funeral Home.
