Life Story for Jules Ned Crabb

Jules Ned Crabb

age 78, of New York, NY, died surrounded by his family on October 7, 2017. Known as Ned, he was the dear husband of Kay Spencer Crabb for 31 years, adored father of Elizabeth and Adelaide Crabb, son-in-law of Frank Cole Spencer and brother-in-law of Patricia Spencer. Ned was a writer and cartoonist, amateur actor and wonderful story-teller. He was retired from The Wall Street Journal, where for 32 years he worked as an editor, writer and illustrator. He was a longtime member of the Amateur Comedy Club, the Drones Club, the Coffee House and the Church of the Incarnation. Ned was a blue-eyed, curly- headed Southern gentleman, always dressed to the nines in his tweed coat and pocket square. He had a wonderful sense of humor and brought so much joy and laughter to his family and friends. Ned loved his family, fishing at the family's camp in Maine and spending his evenings sitting with Kay in their study, reading a book, with a cup of tea at his side and a cat in his lap. We will miss him and love him always. Ned's funeral will be held on Saturday, October 14 at 11:00am, at the Church of the Incarnation, 209 Madison Avenue. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to honor Ned, please consider a contribution in his name to NYU Langone Giving or to Doctors Without Borders.
