Obituary for Daisy Pearl Washington

Daisy Pearl Washington was born on September 15, 1927 to the late Willie Buck and Essie smith in Soperton, Georgia, Treutlen County. She was the fourteenth Child. Her thirteen siblings preceded her in death. She attended Treutlen County Training School.

She became a member of the First C.O.G.I.C. at an early age in Soperton, GA. Daisy Pearl relocated to New York City where she met Cecil Washington. They were united in holy matrimony on July 20, 1948. Cecil preceded her in death. To this union, four children were born; Irene Washington Foster, Bruce Washington, Brenda Washington and Cecilia Washington Dixon. Bruce preceded her in death.

Daisy was an Evangelist, Spiritual Teacher and Prayer Warrior who led many to Christ. She sang with Brooklyn Miracle Temple’s Choir under the Leadership of Donald Kinsey.

For many years, Daisy worked in the New York City public school system as a Para Professional, and when she retired, she did private duty nursing for Staff Builders. She was an active participant at the Good Companion Senior Citizen Center.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Irene Washington Foster, Brenda Washington and Cecilia Washington Dixon; on son-in-law, Turhan Dixon; a daughter-in-law Wilma Washington; five grandchildren, Turhan Dixon, Jr., Terrel Dixon, Tanasia Dixon, Saddique Washington and Jacob Parris; one granddaughter-in-law, Shante Dixon; four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends, too numerous to name.
