Obituary for Thomas C. Lawrence Jr.
Thomas Christopher Lawrence, Jr. of New York, NY passed away on April 16, 2019 at the age of 78 years.
Tom was born and raised in Forest Hills, NY, the son of Thomas Sr. and Mary Lawrence. He spent his formative years at Cranwell Prep in Lenox, MA where he developed a lifelong love of athletics. He attended Notre Dame where he played football, and Fordham University, where he started the rugby club. He received his BS and MBA from Fordham University. He was a member of the New York Athletic Club for over 60 years. He made friends everywhere he went and will be forever remembered for his friendliness, conversation, and cheerful disposition.
He will be lovingly remembered by his longtime partner, Janice Rothermel; daughters Tricia (Yury) Pavlotsky and Kelly (Max) Patlan; his three grandsons Max, Ronan, and Owen; Janice’s children, Caitlin Rothermel, Michael Moore, James Rothermel, and Janice’s grandchildren Hannah, Izabel, Parker, Lily. Beren and Hugh; his siblings Mary Jo McKee, Suzanne and James Starkey, and Michael Lawrence; and nieces and nephews; and his many longtime dear friends.
A wake will be held on Saturday April 20, 2019 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Redden Funeral Home, 325 W. 14th St., NYC. A Mass of Christian Burial Monday, April 22, 2019, 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Church, 414 E. 14th St., NYC. Interment St. John's Cemetery. Middle Village.
