Eunice Camargo de Souza (age 97) started her eternal life with her LORD Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 18, 2020. Eunice was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She loved her adopted Manhattan since moving to NYC in 1957. Eunice was a beloved member of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, and she was held in esteem by many others of the Manhattan Christian family, as she was very engaged with the NYC Christian community: she was one of the founding members of Manhattan Baptist Church, Metro Baptist Church, and she loved to fellowship with many from other churches; Times Square Church NYC and Calvary Baptist Church to name two. Eunice cared deeply and was a ready encourager of her family and her friends.

Eunice’s work life exemplified her strong faith and dedication to Christian service. She retired from the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, Inc. She used her career with FPWA to impact many lives. Also, Eunice was a teacher and a memorable spokeswoman for Brazilian culture. Eunice’s family, who miss her “force of nature” energy, include her youngest sister Airse, her four nieces, Regina Lucia, Rosali, Alzira Angelica, Rosana, her two nephews Reinaldo, Djalma Junior, her nephew-in-law, Nicholas Lampropoulos, and her many grandnieces/nephews.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of Ms. De Souza’s life will be held at a much later date at the chapel of FAPC in Manhattan.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your church or favorite organization, in her memory. Thank you.

To the Family,

I would like to share some words of comfort. Did you know the bible promises that the dead can live again.?
John 5:28,29 says Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice+ 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.

Thank you, yes I have all faith in what My Father GOD has said in 1 Corinthians 15:52b about those of us who accept Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, as the perfect sacrifice that brought my Aunt Eunice in right relationship with Our Father (she believes as I do) ""For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed."

I want to send my condolences to the family of Miss De Souza. I know she was loved and will be missed so much. I wanted to share something that has been bringing comfort to many families during these troubling times. God has promised this. "Death will be brought to nothing," according to 1Corinthians 15:26. God has made an arrangement to remove sickness and death away from his human family. (Revelation 21:3,4) Rest assured that any of your loved ones that have passed away have the opportunity to live again by means of a resurrection hope (Acts 24:15). God has the power to do all things and he wants to do this because he truly hates the pain caused by death. Please read the scriptures mentioned in your own copy of the bible because they really are a comfort to all.

Thank you, and Amen!
