Mary Salitsky Persico. a resident of Chelsea, NYC, for 77 years, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022. She was 99 years old. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Alfred in 2000, her daughter Diane Marie in 1957, and her siblings Michael, George, Ann, John, Joseph, Elizabeth, Frank and Margaret. She is survived by six of her children: George Persico (Eileen), Alfred E. Persico (Jill), Evelyn McCabe (David), Gerald Persico, Anthony Persico (Yvonne), Sally Persico (Gerard), and grandchildren Christine Roper, Michael Persico,, Courtney Davis, Alanna Alemany, Madeline Orchard, Kira Munson, Mary Smith and Frederique Persico; her great-grandchildren Malina Alemany, Evelyn Davis, Scott Alemany, Rory Smith and Ava Orchard as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was born November 15, 1922 to Eva and Joseph Salitsky of Childs, Pennsylvania. In 1939, Mary met the love of her life, Alfred R. Persico. They married in 1946, after Freddie's WWII service. She lived in New York City until her death. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished her family above all else. She was a faithful parishioner of Guardian Angel Church for more than seventy years, until she was unable to ascend the steps to attend mass.
