Therese (Larkin) Karsch passed away peacefully at the age of 98 on June 22, 2026. Born on December 4, 1927, Therese grew up in New York City and graduated from Manhattanville College. She married Henry Karsch, a naval architect and they settled in in Short Hills, NJ for many years where they raised their son Hank Jr. Therese was a member of the Short Hills Gardening Club and enjoyed traveling and reading. She lived her later years in New York City with her sister Kathy Larkin. Therese is predeceased by her husband Henry, son Hank, brother Arthur and sister Kathy. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. There will be a Funeral Mass for Therese on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 10:00 AM at Epiphany Church, 375 Second Avenue, New York, NY 10010. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ

Frank Mullaney (August 21, 1957 - February 23, 2026) Frank Mullaney, age 68, died February 23, 2026 at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. The cause of death was cardiopulmonary arrest as a result of pneumonitis brought on, in part, by a targeted chemotherapy treatment for metastatic lung cancer. Frank’s cancer was originally diagnosed in July, 2025. He was born August 21, 1957 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a son of the late Frank (Sr.) and Doris Mullaney. Frank was the second of four children in the family. He is predeceased by his older sister, Carol Barker, and his younger brother, Paul Mullaney. He is survived by his youngest brother, Brian Mullaney, as well as his nephews and nieces Kelly Barker, Stephen Barker, Mallorie Mullaney and Justin Mullaney. Frank was raised in Cambridge and neighboring Arlington. At an early age he developed dual passions for theater and photography. As a teen he performed regularly with Boston Children’s Theater, as well as on local television and PBS. He once appeared on an episode of Zoom as a scene partner to none other than James Earl Jones. Frank moved to New York City in August of 1977, the same week that Elvis Presley died and the Son of Sam was apprehended (as Frank later liked to recall). He continued performing as an actor, including with Medicine Show Theater Ensemble; on the early public-access cable television Alak Cable Comedy Show, of which he was a co-creator; and in his solo act, The Biff and Corky Martinez Revue, playing both parts (live and in drag as Corky, as Biff via pre-recorded video). He was a young newlywed lead in the otherwise forgettable (Frank’s assessment) independent film, Just Married, and can be spotted in Julian Schnabel’s Basquiat as Christopher Walken’s cameraperson. In an appearance as a waiter on the network soap opera As The World Turns he had to accidentally smash a cream pie into Farley Granger’s face. After a hiatus, Frank appeared again as an actor in several episodes of John Jesurun’s serial play, Chang in a Void Moon. In the early 2000s Frank took up photography again, this time with digital cameras, and soon shifted the bulk of his creative energies toward his work as a photographer. He studied photography at The International Center for Photography with, among others, Amy Arbus, Liam (Billy) Cunningham and Bruce Katz, and developed interests in both commercial and art photography. The commercial side of his work included interiors, portraits, editorial, and performance photography, especially of dance. His art photography was exhibited at galleries in NYC, Los Angeles, the Catskills, Provincetown, and Mexico City. He remains best known for his Wallpaper Saints series, portraits of individuals from the gay, lesbian and transgender community, which he said was inspired by the religious holy cards of his Catholic youth. Frank’s day-job for many years was as a floral designer (he avoided the “ist” word). He operated a successful small business, Frank Mullaney Custom Floral Design, out of a studio in the flower district on 28th Street. He did flowers for restaurants, stores, building lobbies, private residences and special events (assiduously avoiding weddings, however), and designed and maintained plantings for gardens and terraces. Frank was a longtime survivor of HIV. He was diagnosed as HIV+ sometime in the late 1980s after having some early “pre-AIDS” health conditions (as they were known at the time). Among his close friends who died from AIDS was Louis Homyak, like Frank an aspiring actor, as well as a floral designer who gave Frank a start in that business. Frank is survived by his husband, Neil Greenberg. They fell in in love in 1997 and were lawfully married in 2012, the year after same-sex marriage was legalized in New York State. They divided their time between Manhattan and Livingston Manor, NY. Frank is also survived by his chosen family of close friends and colleagues. A “Frank Mullaney Remembrance” will be held Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 3pm at the LGBTQ Community Center (208 West 13th Street, NY NY 10011). The following weekend the Catskill Art Space (48 Main Street, Livingston Manor NY 12758) will hold an exhibition of Frank’s “Wallpaper Saints” photographic series, Friday, June 12th to Sunday, June 14th. There will be a closing reception for friends and family on Sunday, June 14th at 3pm. In Loving Memory of Katherine "Kay" Marie Cosgrove Frost and Charles "Charlie" Francis Frost It's with great sadness and yet deep gratitude for lives well-lived that we announce the passing of Charles "Charlie" Francis Frost and Katherine "Kay" Marie Cosgrove Frost, beloved husband and wife, who passed away earlier this year within weeks of one another after more than 61 years of marriage. They were as close as a two people can be, sharing the same values, interests, and a deep devotion to one another's happiness. They loved a good story, and Charlie had plenty of them, and they loved to share a good laugh. They were truly trusted best friends, and partners with an unbreakable bond. Charlie was born on May 16, 1930, in Ridgewood, New Jersey, to William Pepperrell Frost, Sr., and Laura Margaret McKenna Frost. He grew up in Ridgewood, sharing adventures with his older brother Bill Jr., often enjoying long visits with grandparents and extended family in New England. He graduated from Ridgewood High School and The College of The Holy Cross (Class of 1952) in Worcester, Massachusetts before serving in the army during the Korean War. After his military service he worked in advertising on New York City's Madison Avenue. He enjoyed great success supervising ad campaigns for many products, but most notably as an automotive marketing specialist. He worked with Volkswagen, Peugeot, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Cadillac, and was a driving force behind the introduction of Mercedes-Benz to the U.S. market during his time at Ogilvy and Mather. Charlie is the original "C.F. Frost" whose name is pictured on the credit cards in American Express ads. He was a serial entrepreneur, owning several businesses and, as president of his own consulting firm, Frost and Associates, he helped many clients start their own businesses. He served on the board of directors of several charities in New York and was very close to his Uncle Horace for whom The Father McKenna Center in Washington, D.C. is named. Kay was born August 26, 1935, in Sag Harbor, New York, to John Joseph Cosgrove and Adele Marie Ficorelli Cosgrove. The eldest child, she grew up in Sag Harbor with sisters Cecelia and Dolores, and brother Joseph. After graduating from Our Lady of Sacred Heart High School, she attended NYU, the New School for Social Research, and took countless courses during her employment with American Management Association. She was a licensed realtor and worked with dozens of clients of her company, Kay's Typing Service. She was also featured in American Express ad campaigns as "Kathryn M. Frost" alongside Charlie's "C.F. Frost". Kay was a caring member of her beloved hometown and wrote letters to the editor of the Sag Harbor Express about town budgets, planning board issues, and water resources. She was most serene while on the water and she and Charlie often took their boat out to Sag Harbor Bay so they could swim in the cove they referred to as "Kay's Place". After being introduced by a mutual friend in the city, they were married December 5, 1964, at The Plaza. They soon found the home they'd share for the rest of their lives at the Rembrandt Building at 31 Jane Street in Manhattan's West Village. They loved their apartment, their neighbors, and their quiet neighborhood where everyone looked out for each other. A few years later they purchased a vacation home in Sag Harbor's village of North Haven where they hosted legendary parties with Kay's childhood friends, family, colleagues and loved ones. They also joined the Sag Harbor Yacht Club where Charlie was on the club's board of directors for 25 years and served several terms as the Commodore. He and Kay attended many functions at the club and helped initiate the now annual Commodore's Ball. They traveled extensively and regularly made trips to see family in Colorado and New England. Their partnership was one of a kind. They made friends wherever they went and thoroughly enjoyed life. They were both bright and constantly learning and adding value to the world around them. Charity was something they both learned at a young age, and they actively supported several charities throughout their lives. Charlie, a cockeyed optimist and storyteller, was always ready to share a favorite tale, and many people heard the story of how he and Kay met, or the day they married. They were each other's best friend. They'll both be remembered not only for their professional accomplishments and community involvement, but more importantly for the love and devotion that defined their partnership, and the laughter they joyfully shared. They leave behind a circle of family, friends, and colleagues who were touched by their generosity, kindness, and humor. They will be greatly missed. Their legacy lives on in the stories, traditions, and love they cultivated throughout their lives. They are together again, forever united, as they were in life. Burial services will be held at a later date at North Village Cemetery, Lancaster, Massachusetts and other celebrations of life will be arranged at a future date.
