When I was still in grade school, the movie "City Slickers" with Billy Crystal and Jack Palance came out, and my parents and I loved renting it from Blockbuster to watch together.
There's a scene at the beginning of the movie where it's Billy Crystal's birthday and his mom calls him at 4am, the time he was born, to lovingly and sentimentally relay the details of his birth (to the point where he's able to mouth it verbatim). My mom LOVED that scene.
She loved it so much that she adopted it. Every year on my birthday, September 15th, she would call me right at the time I was born to relay what she was doing at that time however-many years ago. Thank goodness I was born at 9:35am! This past year I was at work on my birthday and had a meeting from 9-10. I actually quietly left to take her call when it came in and I'm so glad I did. September 15, 2017 at 9:35am will possibly be the toughest minute I have all year.
Love you so much Mom. Although I don't think I'll be doing this with Teddy, as he was born at 2:05am :-)
